James pouted " Music is my life, one day I want to be a professional musican" He told her with a smile. If it happened he could say that she knew him when he was a nobody. James nodded his head " I've taught a few people" He told her truthfully and smile he handed her the guitar. He pointed to a cord " That's an A note, if you hold that and strum a solid one time to see what I'm working with" He told her with a grin. He didn't think it would be hard helping her out but he had no idea so he had to look.
Luckly he was very patient so that wasn't going to be the issue.

"Well, when you become rich and famous, don't become too cocky!" Addison warned. She didn't know anyone that this had happened to, but it seemed like something that would happen to anyone who was a normal person one day and then famous the next. James didn't need an ego boost, most people didn't.
Nodding when he told her that he had taught people before, Addy took the guitar that he offered to her and settled it on her lap. Looking at the string that he was pointing at, Addison put her finger over it and held down. Then with her other hand she let her fingers pluck the string. A note echoed from the string and Addy turned her gaze to James to see what to do next. She thought she had done what he said to do correctly, but she wasn’t sure. She had never really played any instruments before, so she had no prior knowledge as to what to do.

James smiled as she played it right. " Pretty decent now play this cord" He said pointing to the one beside it. He had it set in his mind just to get her femeriliar with the cords then start her out with really easy songs. Who knows maybe she could join his band if she wanted. They would have alot of fun together and it would get her out of town for a few hours at a time.

Addison smiled when James confirmed that she had played the chord correctly. She was thrilled that she hadn't made a fool of herself. That was something that she hated to do and even though she tried to prevent embarrassment the majority of the time, she still got embarrassed more than she would like. It was like she was a magnet for that type of thing and she didn't like it because she didn't like to be laughed at. Her mother told her that she needed to learn to laugh at herself and she tried to, but it was just so hard to learn to not care so much!
Positioning her fingers on the string that James indicated to be the next chord, Addison gently strumed her fingers over the strings and then looked up to James for guidance, had she done it right?. She had always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, but she never had because of how much money lessons cost. It was just more than her or her parents would want to pay. Also, ever since she was little, Addison had a bad habit of starting things and then deciding she didn't want to do them anymore. She had gotten better and learned to tough things out though!

James nodded and smiled at her " Perfect now play those both at the same time" He told her as he sat down. James was so nervous about what he was about to do. Normally he didn't get nervous when it came to girls but something about Addison made him very nervous. " So um Addison do you have a boyfriend?" He asked her as he bit his bottom lip. He didn't think she did but you can never tell.
For all he knew that could be the reason she was so shy around him. All he could do was hope that she would want to date him.

Seeing James nod, Addison listened for her next instruction. When she heard James speak, she carefully positioned her fingers and then ran the fingers of her other hand over the strings. She didn’t know how people played the guitar, she had been playing for less than five minutes and her fingers were already starting to cramp. Addy knew it was because she wasn’t used to the positioning, but at the rate she was going, she would never be used to it.
Hearing James ask her if she had a boyfriend, Addy shook her head. “No boyfriend unless you count Riley who is a boy and a friend.” Addison said. She kind of had an idea where James would be heading with the conversation, but she didn’t want to get her hopes up. Then again, she might want to get her hopes up. Why else would James be asking her if she had a boyfriend. That wasn’t a question that boys usually asked girls, at least, Addy didn’t think that it was a common question.
Having never been very big on socializing with others, James could be asking a perfectly normal question. Or, Addison could be on the right track and actually be correct in think that the question was odd. Well, whether it was unusual or not, Addison had already given her answer and there was no going back.

James smiled " Nope he dosen't count in the way I meant it" He told her truthfully. James exhaled hoping he didn't sound like a complete idiot. He wasn't good with rejection of any kind. " I know we just offically started knowing each other and that it's our first date but would you like to by my girlfriend?" He asked her as he bit on his bottom lip. The problem with most girls is that they're hard to figure out.
And Addison was one of those girls. He had an idea what she might say but one can never be sure.
