James went to the beach with his guitar and decided to play. He picked up the guitar pick and started playing one of his favorite songs and started singing along with it.
Just hear me out If it's not perfect I'll perfect it till my heart explodes I highly doubt That I can make it through another of your episodes Lashing out One of the petty moves you pull before you lose control You wear me out But it's all right now Let's go home and get stoned We could end up makin' love instead of misery Go home and get stoned 'Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me You wear me out (We could end up makin' love instead of misery) But it's all right now Without a doubt All the break up's worth the make up sex you're givin' me Let's hash it out 'Cause your bitchin' and your yellin' don't mean anything Don't count me out I can handle all the baggage that you're carrying You wear me out But it's all right now Let's go home and get stoned We could end up makin' love instead of misery Go home and get stoned Because the sex is so much better when you're mad at me You wear me out (We could end up makin' love instead of misery) But it's all right now Let's go home and get stoned We could end up makin' love instead of misery Go home and get stoned 'Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me Go home and get stoned We could end up makin' love instead of misery Go home and get stoned Because the sex is so much better when you're mad at me You wear me out (We could end up makin' love instead of misery) But it's all right now ('Cause the sex is so much better when you're mad at me) Let's go home and get stoned Let's go home and get stoned Let's go home and get stoned Let's go home and get stoned
James finished the song and grunted “ Damn it I can never hit that last note” He said out loud and laid his guitar down on the sand and put his head in his hands a little bit frustrated with himself. He thought he heard somebody behind him but he wasn’t sure.

It was another hot day in Pebble Cove, and it just so happened to be a day that Addy had off from work! Throwing her hair up in a messy bun and setting her sunglasses on her face, Addy smiled at herself in the mirror. The sunglasses kind of disguised her. Slipping into a red bikini that was bound to get her unwanted attention, Addison put a pair of jean shorts and a tank top on over her swimsuit before she made her way to the sandy beach. Carefully laying down her towel, she glanced around and smiled slightly when she saw how empty the beach was. It was still early, but at least she could relax for a little bit! Stripping off her top and shorts when she thought no one was watching, Addison quickly lay down on the fluffy towel that covered the sand. Glancing around the empty beach, Addy noticed one guy a ways a way with a guitar. He had been playing, but then stopped. He looked like he was frustrated or something, but from what she heard, she didn’t understand why. What he played sounded good to her and if she had the confidence that other girls her age had, she would have gone over and told him that.
(we have to get their relationship going!)

James hated how he could play the entire song but not the last note. That’s it I’m giving up music he thought to himself and picked up his guitar and walked right up to the water. He was so tempted to just throw it into the ocean and find a new dream but if his sister were alive she wouldn’t want that. So instead he just threw the guitar pick in the water instead. That helped abit with the anger he had in him.
James looked behind him and noticed a girl that looked out of her comfort zone then he squinted and looked closer. That was that chick that always hung out with that Riley kid. Oh damn what was her name.. oh yeah Addison. He had seen her around before but never went to talk to her because Riley was always around. James looked around well he wasn’t around anywhere maybe I could go talk to her he thought to himself and started walking towards her with his guitar still in hand.
He looked down at her “ Your Addison right?” He asked her raising his eye brow a little bit. “ You probably have no idea who I am” He told her scratching the back of his head.
( I figured they could kind of know each other since they go to the same school. Well he knows she's alive anyway)

Addison watched as the guy got up and walked toward the water. It looked like he was getting ready to throw his guitar in, but when he didn’t, Addy found herself letting out a breath that she hadn’t realized she had been holding. She was happy that he hadn’t thrown his guitar away. From what she heard, he sounded pretty good, and throwing away a guitar would have been such a waste. Keeping an eye on the guy, Addison watched as he started to walk in her direction. She glanced around to see if anyone was behind her, but saw that there was no one there, it was only her.
Her eyes got wide with surprised and her mouth hung open slightly when he said her name. No one besides Riley knew her name, or so she thought. “Yeah, I’m Addison, and you’re James.” She said softly. Addy had always made it a point to know names because she never knew when knowing someone would come in handy.
What would James want? No one ever approached Addy, or acknowledged her existence besides Riley, so there had to be a reason as to why he was talking to her now. Knowing this made Addy tense up slightly. All her mind could jump to was bad things and with no one around, she felt slightly on edge.

James grinned at her “ Wow I’m amazed you know my name especially since I’ve never actually talked to you” He said shrugging his shoulders. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to talk to her it was because Riley was always around and didn’t want to cause any trouble with him. “ So where’s Riley I always see you two together that’s why I was surprised to see you by yourself” He told her honestly. He was pretty sure they were dating by the way they would act towards each other.
One of the main reasons James had never talked to her before was because of how popular he is. If he made an effort to talk to her she might not have talked back she might have been just waiting for him to bully her or something. He also didn’t do it because everybody would expect him to bully her and that’s not who he was. He never was and never will be a bully. James was just naturally attracted to shy girls they were so much better than the girls that completely threw themselves at you.
He had no idea how Addison would react if he started hitting on her so he planned to take things slow then work his way up to flirting.

Addy just smiled shyly and shrugged in response to James’ comment. Just because they had never talked wasn’t a very good excuse for not knowing someone’s name. “Riley was busy today.” He didn’t really give her a reason as to what he was doing, just that he was busy and Addison didn’t question it.
She didn’t really understand why James was talking to her. He was one of the popular people in the school and had never spoken to her before. All the popular kids would just sit together in lunch and in classes. They never strayed too far from their clique, so Addy never talked to any of them. It still surprised her that James even knew who she was.
Despite it being summer, Addy knew that the popular kids usually hung out as a group. That fact added to her uneasiness. She was just waiting for someone to dump something on her and take pictures or something. She wished that she could trust James, but he hadn’t done anything to gain it. At the same time though, he had never done anything to her to make him untrustworthy.
Plucking up some courage, Addy asked, “Why did you look like you were going to throw you r guitar in the water?” Her voice came out soft and if the beach had been crowded, she probably wouldn’t have been heard.

James nodded his head figures she would know what he was up to. James really wanted to ask her if they were dating but he thought that was way too forward after just only starting to talk to her. But then again James rarely took things slowly. “ If this is too personal you don’t have to answer but are you and Riley dating?” He asked her. She was probably going to laugh at that question but how do you know unless you ask.
There were rumors going around that Riley was gay but it was very rare that James believed the rumors being spread around the school. Often rumors were just ways to bully people and James always hated them. There were always rumors around the school about how much of a player he is. That one always made James laugh because he always ended up hurt not hurting them. James smiled at her “ Well it’s because I was” He told her stating the obvious.
Then he decided maybe he should explain himself better “ It frustrates me when I can’t hit the notes and I didn’t hit it” He told her letting out a sigh.

Addy listened to James’ question and tried to hold in her laughter, but when her shoulders started to shake she couldn’t help but to let it out. Shaking her head while trying to control her laughter, Addy tried to calm herself and after taking several deep breaths she was able to talk. “Riley and I aren’t dating. He’s just my best friend..and he’s gay, so he’s definitely not interested in me anyways.” Addy explained, a small giggle escaping her lips every once in a while.
Addison’s eyebrows pulled together and her forehead wrinkled in confusion. She didn’t understand why anyone would want to throw away a guitar. Instruments are pretty expensive and to just toss it away would be very careless. After James’ explained his reasoning, the confusion left Addy’s face, but it still wasn’t a very good reason in her opinion. “Well, from over hear it sounded fine. I couldn’t tell that you didn’t hit the right notes.” Addison said, looking up at James from where she was laying.
Sitting up, Addy pulled her legs to her chest and tried to cover her bikini clad body slightly. She had forgotten that she was only in a bikini until that moment and she could feel her body heating up from the embarrassment that she felt.

When Addison started to laugh he realised how dumb of a question that was then she told him that Riley was gay. James nodded his head “ Oh I thought that was a rumor somebody made to bully him” He told her honestly. So people weren’t being mean they were actually telling the truth for once. James smiled “ Well thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it” He told her honestly. That was the main reason for him playing guitar was to have girls enjoy his music.
It wasn’t a rouse to get into their pants it had to do with making them go crazy over something he could do well. He could play guitar usually pretty well as well as singing. He usually got compliments on his guitar playing as well as his singing so that’s how he knew that his talents drove girls crazy. James noticed that she pulled her body closer to her. James decided not to comment on how she looked fine that might freak her out.
James was really hoping that he wasn’t making her uncomfortable or nervous in anyway. He was hoping she didn’t think he was just talking to her to set her up for some sort of prank he wasn’t like that at all.

Addison just shook her head. She knew that there were people at her school who had started some pretty nasty rumors about people in the past, but Riley being gay wasn’t one of them. “If Riley knew someone was bullying him he would probably have hunted them down and fought them.” Addy said, remembering what Riley had done to a guy that was mean last time they were at the beach together.
“You shouldn’t get that frustrated when you don’t get it right.” Addy said, referring to James’ playing and singing. Resting her cheek on her knees, Addy looked all the way up to James and started to wonder how tall he was. She was only a little over five feet tall, so almost everyone was taller than she was, but it didn’t change the fact that she was curious. James looked like a giant from where she was sitting, but she felt that it would be strange to ask someone she hardly knew about their height. So, instead she asked, “How long have you been playing and singing?” Addy was curious about that too, but not as curious as she was about his height.
There was something about James that made him different from the rest of the popular kids. He wasn’t mean like them and she got the feeling that if it were up to him he wouldn’t be popular.

James nodded understanding how that felt being talked about behind your back. “ See I never believed he was gay I thought you two were like in love or something and people made that up to be jerks” James told her honestly. James couldn’t help but laugh “ It would be easy not to get frustrated but I want to become a professional musician so I do take it hard when I mess up” He told her with a small smile. Right now in his life music was the only thing keeping him going so without his music he really had nothing. “ About ten years now” He told her thinking back to when he had first started it was shortly before his sister was killed by his mom.
He used to sing his sister to sleep and play her favorite little kid songs on his guitar. But at that time his guitar wasn’t as expensive as it is now it was one that you could buy at the toys are us for less than thirty dollars but to him it was amazing. James noticed how hot it was and he started fanning himself “ Holy crap it’s hot… um I’m going to take my shirt off now” James said giving her a warning and stood up to take his shirt off. James loved his body he spent so much time working on it to get his six pack that he always showed off so proudly. James sat back down and gave Addison a smile since he knew it would probably make her blush like crazy.

Addy laughed again and shook her head. She loved Riley, but not like that. He was just her crazy best friend. “I guess I can see why you thought that, but we’ve just known each other so long that we’re like family.” Addison explained with a small shrug and a smile tugging at her lips. When James talked about his music, Addison could somewhat understand what he meant about it being frustrating when things didn’t go right. She had experienced the feeling before.
When James warned her that he was going to take his shirt off, Addy blushed and looked away. She acted the same way with Riley. It didn’t matter that she had known him forever, seeing attractive guys half naked made her slightly embarrassed and uncomfortable. It was almost like she felt she wasn’t pretty enough to be seen with guys like James.
Glancing back in James’ direction, Addy looked at him and loved what she saw though she’d never admit it. James looked like one of the guys that would play the leading male in a chick flick, he was that hot! Looking away before James could catch her checking him out, Addy blushed as she thought about his six-pack abs. Those were the type of muscles that any girl would want their guy to have.

James laughed abit “ That’s why I never approached you before I didn’t want to cause trouble in your relationship, which apparently never existed anyway” He said shaking his head abit well what else was he supposed to think. James noticed Addison go bright red “ I have a strange feeling that I’m making you nervous” He told her holding in a laugh. That wasn’t his intention to make her nervous he was genuinely sweating and he wanted a way to keep himself cool. Although for future references taking his shirt off made Addison go quieter then she usually was. “ So what do you want to do after high-school is done?” James asked her wanting to get her talking again.
James had no intention of just talking to her to get into her pants but of course if that had happened that was just a bonus. Despite what was said about him he wasn’t a player. “ Addison I’m curious what have you heard about me?” James asked her honestly being very curious since he was pretty sure they weren’t good things mostly negative things was his guess. That he was a player or a jerk or a guy who just talked to girls to get into their pants. All were incorrect.

Addison caught how James had worded his sentence and from it, it sounded like he had wanted to approach her in the past. She didn’t know if she was reading into it more than she should, but it made butterflies form in her stomach when she thought of the possibility of James actually liking her. Coming out of her own world, Addy saw James holding in laughter and she started to turn bright red all over again. “It’s not funny.” She mumbled. She wasn’t used to people joking with her, Riley did it, but that was different. In response to James’ question, Addison shrugged. She wanted to be a writer, so she figured she’d go to school for English.
Addy shrugged again, she had heard that James was a player and a jerk, but none of his actions or personality traits seemed to fit either of those stereotypes. “You don’t seem like what people said you were like. You seem nice to me.” Addison said truthfully. Players seemed to be cocky and have huge egos, but James didn’t seem to have either of those things. Also, he hadn’t done anything that would classify him as a jerk. He was just an easy going nice guy.

James covered his mouth with his hand “ Uh sorry but it kind of is” He told her honestly. Riley nodded his head “ Ah so you have heard the rumors” He said shaking his head. Those damn rumors messed up a lot of stuff. Even though he had gotten the reputation of a player girls still wanted to be with him but it wasn’t the fact that he was wanted. He preferred actually being the nice guy rather than a jerk.
James tilted his head at her “ Wow either you’re really shy or your freaked out by the fact that I’m shirtless” He said gently rubbing his chin. “ Which would you rather me believe?” James asked her. James did want to ask her out on a date but he didn’t want to freak her out or make herself conscious in anyway. Also he didn’t handle rejection very well it hurt him really bad when he got rejected. He would rather wait till she was more comfortable with him then ask her out.
James knew what would happen if he was seen in public with her but he didn’t care he hated the stupid cliques.
