 Just hours after the end of the year, Katherine Dalton was attacked in her office. The Headmistress had been completing forms to send to the Department of Magical Education when a cold wave of depression swept across the tower. Correctly realising that a Dementor had somehow got into the room, she reached for her wand but found only an empty pocket. She didn't stand a chance. Professor Dalton wasn't found until shortly before the students were due to return from their summer holidays.
The four founders of Hogwarts had watched in horror as the scene unfolded in front of them. Many years before, they had prepared a secret enchantment that would allow them to return to the castle in its hour of need. They had left it too late to prevent the Battle of Hogwarts or just fight in it for that matter. They weren't going to make that mistake again. Taking the Headmistress' attack as a sign of future disharmony, they agreed to put their enchantment into practice and stop their life's work crumbling around them a second time.
Each founder selected a student from their house and delivered instructions on what they needed to do through their dreams. While it has thus far been kept a complete secret, a misplacement of trust could bring everything to an irreversible halt. Will the founders succeed in returning or will Katherine's attacker prevent them from doing so? If they do come back, will they be able to stop Hogwarts turning into a battlefield once again?
