As Riley laughed, Celia willed herself to smile. She would make due here. Sure, she might have to drive three hours to get Chinese, but that would just make it taste all the better. At least she'd be healthier. Or, she'd really learn to love pizza. "Is it just you there?" The words escaped her mouth rather quickly, almost as if she didn't even realized that they had. Two bedrooms and no balcony? It hardly seemed of living conditions to Celia. "I mean... it seems small. But, I'd love to come visit." It couldn't hurt to make a new friend. Celia had never been inside such a small house. It would be interesting.
But, she was prepared to take on that experience. As she admitted to which house was actually hers, she couldn't help but to giggle at Riley's response. His jaw literally dropped, and he just seemed shocked. She bit her lip, nodding with a grin as she did so. "I know. But, that's Caroline for you. She doesn't settle for anything less than... amazing." She shrugged, this seeming as if it were nothing of surprise to her. But, Riley seemed to be either impressed, surprised, or maybe just pure shocked. Celia wasn't good at depicting just what he was thinking.
"It's really not that," Cecelia paused, trying to find a word to fit her thoughts. Big? Extravagant? Spacious? None of those words seemed to fit, so she reworded her thoughts. "It's a nice house, but I'm sure your apartment is pretty spectacular, too!" [/blockquote]

Riley shook his head “ No I live with my grandparents, have been since I was born” He told her shrugging his shoulders. If she wanted to know more he would tell her he just always hated telling people his life story, what if they didn’t want to hear it. Then he just wasted his story on somebody that doesn’t care. Riley smiled “ Well you can come visit whenever you want” He told her honestly that’s how his grandparents operated his friends could come over at any time as long as they didn’t cause trouble. Riley shook his head “ Nope, well yeah it’s fine but it’s not like your house” He told her.
When they had started building it Riley was curious so he trespassed on the property to see what it was like. “ Confession time, I actually been inside your house, well while it was still being built” He told her a little un sure about how she would take that news. “ There’s really nothing to do around here” He said with a slight chuckle and scratched the back of his head. He figured while it was being built it was ok but as soon as somebody moved in he would have to be invited in.

Riley lived with his grandparents. Celia found herself curious as to where his parents were. Were they living, but depressed, like her mother? Were they dead, like her father? Was there some other reason that it was just he and his grandparents that Celia couldn't relate to? Was it too impolite to ask? Celia found herself having an internal debate over the best questions to ask. They had just met, she wasn't certain where overstepping her boundaries would be. She knew that she, for one, didn't like the idea of going into a back story. But, would that be different for Riley?
Letting her thoughts get the better of her, Celia blurted out a rather blunt question. "What happened to your parents?" Realizing her mistake, she immediately clamped a hand over her mouth, blushing. Stupid big mouth of hers. Speaking through her hand, Celia hurried to correct her mistake. "You don't have to answer that! It's really none of my business! I'm sorry." Her words came rather muffled from behind her hand, but the look of panic was probably apparent on her face.
"Nothing is quite like the Chancellor Estate. Caroline made certain of that." Celia agreed, as he stated his house wasn't quite like hers. She knew that. But, fancy homes were nothing special to her. Back in New York, every one of her friends had a fancy house much like hers. It was just the life she lived. As he stated that he had snuck in, however, Celia giggled. "Really, you were that curious?" A light tone laced her voice. She found it rather amusing. "Well then, Riley, you are certainly welcome to come over any time you like. I'm sure that my family would love you." Or, she hoped, anyhow. Her mother would probably just be grateful she had found company. Her brother would see him as the little sister's friend, which usually meant he didn't speak much to him. And her grandmother? Celia wasn't certain how Caroline would take to him. She was so hard to read sometimes! [/blockquote]

Riley shook his head “ Oh no it’s not a problem I just don’t like telling people the story in case they aren’t actually interested” He told her giving her a small smile to let her know it was ok and that he wasn’t mad at her for asking. “ My parents were huge parteries and travelers they didn’t want to settle down, so they had been dating non exclusively for years then finally they decided to get married, they had no intentions of having any kids but when they found out mom was pregnant they didn’t want to abort me either, once I was born my parents handed my grandparents full custody because they felt like they couldn’t settle down enough for a baby, they visit every once and a while tell me that they love me and ask how life’s going, but god I hate them so much it’s one thing to give me up but it’s another to come visit and pretend like they actually care” He told her letting out a sigh of relief. Riley shook his head “ No it’s ok I’d rather you ask then just assume things” He said to her. Riley laughed and nodded his head putting his past back into his mind so he wouldn’t be sad when talking to her “ Yeah that’s the biggest place around what else was I supposed to do?” He asked her with a grin. Riley shrugged “ I don’t know why but most people love me” He told her honestly which was something he never actually understood.
“ I’m just so damn adorable I guess” Riley told her giving her a pouty look like a model would give or even a cute puppy. “ My grandparents would love you too” He told her honestly they loved all his friends because they were kind people.

Cecelia nodded along with Riley's story, honestly finding herself interested in it. She pitied him a little, but really she also found herself jealous of him. Her parents had always cared for her, yes, but she spent her childhood primarily raised by nannies while they worked. And Caroline only cared about having a proper heir and a proper public image, or so Celia believed. And now... well, her father wouldn't ever be in the picture because of her stupid mistakes. At least his grandparents, and his parents to some extent, kept him grounded so that he wouldn't make such a mistake. "Don't take them for granted. They care about you more than you realize." Her words came out a tad harsher than she had intended. But, parents were an emotional subject for her as of late. She had brought it up, though, so Celia quickly forced a smile to her face and changed her tone of voice. "Just trying to be optimistic! I'm sure they love you, Riley."
Quickly shoving the thoughts of parents to the back of her head where they belong, Celia laughed at his comment. "If Caroline and my mother have their way, Pebble Cove will be a growing community full of big buildings in no time." It was always business with her family. Even though they relocated for reasons other than business, they still found a way to turn it into business. Celia both admired and resented that, and she knew that she would one day be expected to do the same. It was the Chancellor way.
She laughed as Riley joked about being adorable. "Of course! That's exactly why I just had to talk to you! You're just so freaking adorable." Giggling, she started down the aisle of frozen things, looking at each with little interest. "Now I want to meet your grandparents." She spoke, curiosity getting the best of her. "How about we have dinner? My treat!" [/blockquote]

Riley shook his head “ That’s how it would seem but if that were the case wouldn’t they call me often or even try to see me?” Riley asked seeing his point but at the same time he couldn’t believe that. Riley shrugged his shoulders “ I really doubt that” He told her honestly if they loved him they would call a fair amount of the time and show up more than once every five to six months. Riley smiled a bit “ Cool then more people will be coming down here” He said a little bit excited it was nice to meet new people. Riley shook his head “ Uh yeah must have hurt you though when you found out I’m gay” He told her with a bit of a laugh. Riley smiled “ They are very nice people they would probably end up treating you like the granddaughter they never had” He told her honestly.
Riley’s grandparents loved all of his friends but that’s because all of his friends were good people. Riley smiled “ Sure but I want to leave the tip ok?” Riley asked her.
