A big mistake (Cecelia only)

Nate smiled, but not his usual warm smile, no this was the smile of someone with power, someone that every feared but at the same time, everyone wanted to be. Nate was actually popular, well he was popular back in Cardiff but now he doesn't feel popular but he still feels like he has power. Nate's life was officially perfect with his complicated relationship he has with his neighbour June at least it was until the sound of knocking snapped him right back into reality. Nate awoke with a start as his mother walked into his room without even waiting for Nate to tell her to. but that was his mom, always being polite but then doing things she wanted anyways. it didn't really matter much to Nate except that he was actually having the best sleep ever and the best thoughts.

He watched as his mother looked around the room, pursed her lips, then walked out. Nate let out a sigh as he turned to look at the time and saw that the time was one in the afternoon "No wonder I was enjoying that sleep" Nate said as he let out a yawn while he stretched his arms. Nate got changed into a pair of blue swimming trunks, he pulled a pair of blue jeans over them, put on a pair of blue boots, and orange top and grabbed his blue jacket. "Might as well see if June is busy" Nate thought to himself as he grabbed the things he would need for that day and shoved them into his bag. Nate left the apartment and walked next door to June's he knocked on the door and waited for an answer, he wanted to see June as he saw Riley leaving her apartment the other day so he wanted to know what he had said to her but her grandmother told her she had gone out. Nate let out a sigh and made his way to the beach. At the beach Nate found a place and laid down a towel, sat on top of it and then continued to sketch the picture of June that he had continued the other day.

"I'm so excited for this party tonight, C! It's going to be the party of the year!" The chorus of voices surrounding the tacky, handmade, volley ball court chimed in their opinions of the beach party tonight. Celia's best friend in the town, Laurie, was throwing a beach bash that evening and it was all that any of her companions could talk about. Celia knew it wasn't a wise idea to go to the party, but she wanted to be accepted here in Pebble Cove. Laurie was the only college friend that she had, and her grandmother approved of the girl. So, Celia had justified that there was nothing to lose by attending this party. She could control herself this time around, she was certain of it. And Caroline, her grandmother didn't have to know.

These were the thoughts echoing through her head as she jumped, slamming her hand into the hard, white volleyball and sending it over the net. Laurie had been setting up for this party for hours, and in the time since then, several people had joined their crew. Celia's small red convertible had been pulled down to the area, its radio blasting, and the tacky volleyball net had soon followed. It looked as if the typical group of college students getting ready to have a weekend of fun. Celia hadn't told any of them about her past partying problems, nor had she mentioned her lack of excitement for this evenings event. She had just followed along suit, helping with what needed help and participating in their volleyball game the rest of the time. She was quite good at volleyball.

But, as the ball came sailing back over the net at her, Celia's mind was still wondering. Was a party really such a wise idea? She barely focussed as she smacked the ball this time, leading to the ball sailing far beyond the court and on down the beach. One of the boys on the opposing team moved to get it, but Celia shook her head. "I'll get it!" She stopped, grabbing her white wrap off the sand and throwing it on over her shoulders as she sprinted down the beach after the ball. She was barefoot, a rather skimpy white bikini on her body, and her long blond hair lying lose. Her sunglasses covered a good portion of her face, and even Celia thought that she would pass for a prissy college student. She was fine with that, however, who did she have to impress? The ball was lying beside a boy when it came back into view, and Celia slowed her pace to a stop as she approached him. "Hey! Sorry about that... did I hit you?"
