The bad luck (Riley only)

Nate had woken up early wanting to go to the beach to either to spend time with Addison or to spend some time with his neighbor June. But the hard thing about Just is that even though they are neighbors and what not they can't really stand each other but at the same time they can stand each other. Nate decided to put on a pair of blue swimming trunks, an orange top, a pair of blue sandals. He then grabbed his bag and shoved in a spare pair of shorts, his boxer pants, suntan lotion, his sketch pad and pencil, his wallet, keys, he was about to send a text to June that said 'Hey if you are not busy do you want to go to the beach with me' but instead of pressing send he decided to delete the message instead, he then put his phone into his bag and then a towel on top.

At the beach Nate walked over to an empty spot. He pulled out his towel laying it in view of the sun, he then placed his bag down before he sat down onto the towel. He pulled out his sketch pad and pencil, he sat there thinking of what to draw but the only thing that he could think of was the time him and June went on the tour of Pebble Cove what ended up with the two of them making out, he let out a sigh and finally decided to draw a picture of June. He touched his pencil to the paper and started to draw a portrait of June, after about half an hour all he had managed to draw was the face, eyes and hair. He let out a loud sigh as he threw his sketching pad away from him not really noticing that it had hit someone.

On the days Riley didn’t work it was very boring what else was there to do? He decided he would go down to the beach and get some more color in his body. The paleness of his skin grossed him out so much he desperately wanted to fix that. He put on his red swim trunks and grabbed a towel and his cell as well as his keys and headed to the beach. He figured he might get bored and might text somebody to come hang out with him.

He always hated texting people things he felt like he was ruining whatever they had planned for the day. He finally made it to the beach and laid out his towel he looked around at the beach strange there was hardly anybody here today. He laid down on back and closed his eyes this will be relaxing he thought to himself that was into something flew over and hit him in the head. Riley opened his eyes to see a clip board he stood up and walked over to the boy “ Um excuse me I think you threw this at my head” He told the boy tempted to throw it at his head then he looked at it. This looked like June.

Well what there was anyway. But it still looked like June was he stalking her or something? First he would figure out what was going on than If it was serious he would take matters into his own hands.

Nate let out a sigh as he laid back onto the towel and looked up at the clouds floating by over head with out a worry at all in there minds. Nate knew that eventually he would either have to grow up and stop acting immature like he was with Jun getting annoyed with her over the slightest of things even though she was just being kind to him or he would get into more trouble than he could handle and then he would have to move out and his mum will most likely never talk to him again. But the thing Nate could get out of his mind was the little make out session he had with June after they had an argument, even though they knew each others ages it didn't stop them in the slightest. Nate's little day dream got interepted by a male voice. He looked over and saw that the male was holding his sketch pad "Oh sorry about that" Nate said not wanting to start anything with a complete stranger.

Nate saw the male look at the picture and it seemed to him that he recognized who it was of. "Oh great now I have to figure a way out of this" Nate thought to himself as he stood up. Nate looked at the male trying to figure out if he was friends with June or someone that didn't like June, he walked over to the male "Sorry I got into a mood as I just can't seem to do a good job of the portrait of my neighbour I was drawing so I threw it away in a mood and I guess I threw it a bit to hard and it hit you. I am so sorry" Nate said as he held his hand out "The name is Nate and do you mind if I have my sketch pad back as it has some personal drawing and some drawing I have done while I have been bored" Nate said hoping he would get the sketch pad back easily.

Riley shrugged his shoulders as the boy apologized for throwing the book at his head. Oddly enough he was used to having things thrown at his head so for him it wasn’t as big of a deal as it could’ve or even should’ve been. Riley nodded his head kind of understanding what he was talking about but Riley found it all too suspicious this really looked like June. Or rather what was there looked like June. Riley tapped his chin as he thought about it.

What was the big deal if he looked through the sketch pad. “ Nate is there naked pictures of June in here or something?” Riley asked him holding the sketch pad behind his back so Nate couldn’t easily get at it. Riley knew he didn’t tell Nate what his name was but the important thing here was trying to figure out why he was drawing pictures of June. The other part was wondering if June knew about these pictures. It was times like these that Riley wished he could read minds then he could figure out what was really going on.

He also wished he was in the wizarding world then he would yell “acio phone” so he would be able to call June and see if she knew this guy and if she knew about these pictures.

Nate looked at the boy who just simply shrugged his shoulders when he had appolagised to him for throwing the sketch pad at by mistake. Most people would of said something like 'that is fine, just be more careful' or tried to start something what Nate was glad didn't happen as he is not suppose to be getting into fights since he is trying to have a fresh start. Nate gave the boy a little smile when he noticed the boy had nodded his head slightly almost to say that he understands. Nate continued to stand there trying to figure out what this boys deal with June is, is he one of her friends, enemies or is he stalking her and that is why he recognized the unfinnished picture of June, if that was the case then he would have to start something he doesn't want to. Nate raised an eyebrow at the boy as he noticed he was tapping his chin sort of like he was in thought about something.

Nate looked at the boy shocked at what he had just said about his sketch pad "Of course not, there is only that partly finnished picture of june in there, since it is sort of a new one there is only three other pictures in there and they are a picture of a female I met here the other day called Addison something, a picture of me and my famil then the last thing is a picture of my past that I am not completely proud about the fact. I can't draw a picture of someone naked and if I was asked to do it for a part of my course then I would tell the teacher that I am uncomfortable about drawing that" Nate said as it was the truth but the picture that he didn't want the boy to see was the picture of his Jail cell he had drawn not long before he had came out of Jail. Nate gripped his fists tightly when he noticed the boy hold the sketch pad behind his back to make it harder for Nate to have it "What is your name any way" Nate said planning on checking the name up with June if she is home when he decides to go home himself.

Riley smiled when Nate said there wasn’t any naked pictures of June “ Well I’m glad to hear that I really wouldn’t want to have to beat you up” He said and went to give him back his book until he said there was a picture of Addison in there. June and Addison were two of his friends you just didn’t want to mess with. Addison is his best friend and June is equally close to him. If he ever had to choose which friend he liked more he wouldn’t do it because they both were amazing girls and each made him happy. “ Riley” Was his response.

If he had planned on asking June about him June would just tell him that they were good friends. Because it’s the truth. Riley couldn’t help but be curious about him what made him decide to draw Addison and June. If this was some sick twisted way to create drama around here Riley would stop it. He did not need any hate between his two friends.

Since he would be wanted to pick sides and quite frankly if It came to this guy Riley would think neither should have him. Something is going on with him and it would bug Riley until he figured it out.

Nate noticed the male smile at Nate when he had said about there being no pictures of June naked in there, he let out a smirk in response. "I wouldn't want that now would I" Nate said as his smirk turned into a smile as if someone started a fight with him then he would have to fight back to protect himself so it wouldn't be his fault. Nate was about to take the book back but then the male hesitated when he had mentioned he had drawn a picture of Addison in there. "So that must mean he is either close or best friends with the both of them but just who is he" Nate thought to himself as he wondered what his relationship was with the two of them and just how close he was with them as well. He smiled at the boy when he introduced himself "I take it you are the Riley who is Addison's best friend, she told me about you" Nate said with a slight shrug.

Nate wondered what both June and Addison would tell him about Riley. Well from what Addison had told him they seemed to be best friends, so she would most likely tell him good things. But June would most likely be different and probably not tell Nate anything about her friends as he is not really friends with her but they are just friendly neighbours so she would probably tell him it is none of his business who her friends are or something along those lines. But he did have to wonder what they would both say about him if Rley asked the two of them, would June mention the fact that he has served time in Jail, the fact they had a little make out session after they had an argument about that fact. Then there is Addison who he had only met at the beach while his brother Nathan was out surfing so what would she say about him, would she tell Riley that Nate was flirting with her or something else entirely.

Riley nodded his head “ She’s one of my best friends Was what he told her. Riley smiled when he said that Addison had talked about him “ Well uh yeah but what did she say about me?” He asked a little curious what she would say about him behind his back. He figured it would be good things but you could never know what people’s true feelings were. He seemed like a decent guy so instead of keeping his book any longer he handed it back to him. Normally he would just throw it but would feel bad if they had fallen out and wrecked.

Sure he could just re-draw them but it’s not the same. “ Sorry about that but you never know in today’s society right?” Riley asked him shrugging his shoulders. Riley figured he should tell him the story “ I had this friend a few years ago, she was getting stalked by this guy he would send her pictures that he drew himself, she got so paranoid she moved, when I saw your drawings I thought he was back but you don’t seem like him he only focused on one girl” Riley told him so Nate could figure out why he was so upset by the pictures.

"I guessed so as some things she said about you made me think that your where either best friends or the two of you are dating" Nate said with a smile on his face. "Well when I called her attractive she said that I shouldn't call her that as the only people who call her it are her family and her friend Riley, then when I asked her about if you where her only friend as you where the only person she had mentioned to me, she said you where her best friend. But the thing I don't get is when I mentioned June she recognized the name but couldn't put a face to it. So that make me think how are you best or good friends with the two of them and yet Addison doesn't know who June is or she can't picture who she is" Nate asked wondering about the subject.

"Yeah that is the truth, you can never know who the person drawing the picture's true intentions are, especially when it is someone you don't know and it involves your friends I would be the same but I would not give an empty threat" Nate said meaning about when Riley said he would have to batter Nate, even though Nate isn't that strong in fights he can give as good as he gets in them. Nate let out a sigh as he heard the story of why Riley was so paranoid about the picture of June. "Everyone has there reason to hate people, people do things that they will regret later on and I am not proud of things I have done in the past, so if you hated me I wouldn't of really blamed you" Nate said as he walked over to his bag and put his sketching pad back into his bag, he then walked over to Riley "So do you know if June is dating anyone" Nate said since it was one question they had never asked each other on the tour.

Riley couldn't help but laugh when he wondered if they were dating " I love her and she's absolutely beautiful but I'm gay" He told him honestly. When Nate had mentioned that he had called her attractive Riley got a little upset by that " Did you tell her that in an offense way or a truthful way?" He asked because one would get him beat up and the other would get a different reaction. Riley cleared his throat " The main reason Addison can't think of who June is off the top of her head is because Addy is too shy to talk to other people so I mostly hang out with her, June's grandparent's and mine were childhood friends so that's how I got close with June.. now that I think about it I haven't seen her in awhile" Riley told Nate. Riley shrugged his shoulders " You've given me no reason to hate you I'm just paranoid when it comes to my friends that's all" Riley told him honestly.

" No don't think so" Riley said keeping his anger under control it seemed like he was playing both of his friends and that's something he did not like.

Nate raised an eye brow at Riley when he burst out laughing when Nate had asked him if he was dating Addison. "Ah that is understandable, I was just wondering because the two of you seem close so I just thought that you two may be dating" Nate said as it would seem like they where if he had seen them together a lot but so far this is his first meeting with Riley. Nate saw that Riley was a bit upset by what he had said next, "I said it in a truthful way as I do reckon that she is an attractive female, much better than a lot of the females I have seen around Pebble Cove" Nate said as it was the truth, in his eyes only one girl he thought was more attractive than Addison and that was June for some reason. "Ah that is fine, I was just wondering since I was confused on the fact but now you have cleared that up for me" Nate said as he looked slightly away from Riley at what he had said next. "That is understandable Riley" Nate said as he thought aboput what Riley would think of him if he found out that he has served time in jail. "That is fine" Nate said as he shrugged a bit to hide the fact that he was slightly relieved about the fact that June is single. "So want to do some" Nate asked Riley to get to know him better.

Riley nodded his head “ Yeah lots of people think that way, it’s amusing to both of us actually” Riley said with a bit of a laugh. Riley nodded his head grateful that he wasn’t saying that to be a pervert “ Good I’m glad to hear that” He said to Nate. “ It’s just such a tiny little town that anybody new comes along and everybody usually jumps at the time to get to know them, but we’re never sure if they’re good people or not” Riley told him honestly. “ After you’ve been here for a while and build relationships you’ll notice it I can guarantee it” Riley told him already predicting how Nate would be in this town. Riley smiled at him “ You got a thing for her don’t you?” Riley asked him.

Being gay made Riley really obvious towards how men and women felt towards each other. Unfortunately sometimes it was harder to see what men were into him and what men weren’t. “ So what brings you to this crappy town?” Riley asked Nate wanting to understand this random stranger.

Nate laughed a bit at what Riley said "I guess it would be better for people to think I am straight than gay, but that would be just me, so you may be different" Nate said as he wouldn't judge someone just because they like the same gender as themselves. "No problem then" Nate said with a smile on his face. "I guess that could lead to some big mistakes especially when they have a dark or a checkered past" Nate said meaning more about himself than anyone else. "I guess I have some to look forward to atleast" Nate said as he rolled his eyes. What Riley said next caught Nate by surprise "What..." Nate said as his eyes went wide "...what would give you that idea, I find her so annoying and such a nuicance to deal with, besides she is my neighbour so it would be easy for my siblings to find out" Nate said as that is what makes it so much more dangerous for him.

"Well I made some big mistakes in the past, so me and my family decided to move home to a nice quiet place for a fresh start where no one will know any of my family" Nate said still being vague about the real reason they moved.

Riley rolled his eyes at Nate " One she's not annoying she's amazing, two typically when straight people say that the opposite sex is annoying it's code for liking them" He told him shrugging his shoulders. Jeeze sometimes straight people can be so obviously annoying. Riley nodded kind of knowing what it would make sense " Just a word of the wise, don't even tell one person why before you know it the entire town will know" Riley told him giving him some very good advice. Gossip was the best thing around here.

Nate raised an eye brow when he saw Riley roll his eyes at Nate when he said about the fact he finds June annoying. "Well I find her annoying as she did things on the tour she gave me I hate people doing, I thought you argue the most with the people that you like a lot not call them annoying. Or is the arguing with the people you care about the most only a British thing" Nate said as he looked up at the sky thinking about if he actually had feeling for June like Riley has said or if it is like he has said all along. "Well my code is different for liking people as I would tell people who I like but there is no way I would like June as for starters she is my neighbour" Nate said as he looked back to Riley.

Nate looked a bit annoyed at what Riley had said next "What would happen if someone told some else a thing the person doesn't want to be public knowledge so the second person promises to keep it a secret what would happen then" Nate said as he did tell June that he had spent time in jail but after there little argument and make out session she had promise not to tell anyone, but with what Riley had just told him would his biggest secret and mistake be public knowledge or not.
