[-aura-]
Ahhh. The girl called Aura let out a small little sigh of contentment as the cool summer breeze blew softly through her golden hair, twisting it every which way, light brown eyes bright with the intensity of her favorite season. The slight rush she felt as she was released from listening to the teachers drone about a subject she couldn't care less about was magnificent. A light, bubbly giggle escaped her lips and she plopped down so she was sitting on the dock with her legs dangling over the edge. Bare toes dipping slightly in the water, she let her chocolatey eyes scan her surroundings. Nobody that she could see. She laid back on the soft wood of the dock, eyes closing as she listened quietly to the peaceful sounds of nature that buzzed around her.
Happiness seemed to dwell in her soul, lightening her every movement. A giddy smile appeared on the tips of her full lips, expressing her one deepest emotion: joy.
The anti-social seventeen-year-old that sat peacefully on the docks began to sing lightly to herself.
"In the arms of the angel Fly away from here. From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear."
Her pretty singing carried farther than she had expected, though she was not worried someone would hear her. After all, there was no one in sight!
Words: 271 Lyrics: Angel - Sarah McLachlan Muse: Ehh. Pretty bad. e.o Notes: Anyone can join if they want to. :3

James was out for a walk when he decided to get to the docks. He always enjoyed it out here since it was usually seculded. He heard a woman's voice singing. It wasn't horrible singing in fact it was very pretty. His feet offically made contact with the dock before he spoke up.
He hated sneaking up on people and always tried to let the person know he was there. Didn't want to terrify anybody. " You have an amazing voice" He told her truthfully with a smile. Maybe he could convince her to join his band. His vocals just wern't as good as they could be.

Her solitude had been interrupted. The girl was so surprised at the presence of another human, she sat up quickly. Spinning around, she tried to whip around so fast, she nearly fell backwards into the depth of the water she had just been peacefully dipping her toes in. She had to dig her nails into the cool wood of the dock to steady herself. All traces of the previous bliss she had been feeling disappeared quickly as though it couldn't exist in the same room as another human presence.
"Shit. You scared me."
As her breathing slowly returned to normal, she surveyed the boy who stood in front of her. Her people-deprived brain tried desperately to catch up with what what was happening.
As her heart-rate finally continued at its normal speed, she only then processed what he had said to her.
Hmm..
Standing slowly, the five foot four girl cocked her head slightly as the words he had spewed forth sunk in. She had always loved singing, but it never occurred to her that she might actually be good at it. A light smile played on her lips.
"Thank you."
Thank you, was all the anti-social girl had said.

James pouted when she said he had scared her " I'm sorry I didn't mean to" He told her truthfully. For all she knew he was some phyco coming to hurt her. Of course he wasn't but how would she know? James smiled " Your welcome" He said with a nod. " I'm James and you are?" He asked her.
James wanted her for his band and that was his mission.

"Ahh, it's alright. A little adrenaline never hurt anyone."
There was a smile in the blond girl's voice as she spoke, as well as on her lips. She was, admittedly, slightly taken aback at his apology. After all, he had no reason to be sorry. A normal, social girl would've simply remained calm in the situation. But, noo.. She just had to nearly fall into the water with surprise. Caramelized brown eyes glinted with soft laughter. Laughter at her own solitude. Why the hell did she need to be alone, anyway? Why couldn't see be equivalent to any other typical teenager? You know, sleep all day and party all night, and crap like that.
As he spoke once again, she let herself relax for the first time in his presence. She told herself that other people weren't all that bad. She needed to simply be herself. And herself she could be.
The girl oozed confidence, and well she should. She was pretty, in a unique kind of way. Her blond hair was always mussed from the wind that constantly played in those locks. The chocolatey brown eyes that so often sparkled brightly acted as a mirror to her feelings, as they had always expressed exactly what she was feeling. She always dressed simply, but added a touch of herself in her simple outfits. For example, today she sported a light purple tee, the fabric light and airy. She wore a simple necklace that held a small little clock, sorta like a little pocket watch, except on a silver chain that hung around her neck. She wore jean shorts, frayed at the ends, that stopped around her mid-thigh area. Her skin was always tan, as a result of spending as much time as she possibly could outside. It became her. As for her feet, they were bare, but a small pair of espadrilles laid next to where she had previously been sitting.
"I am Aura."
The girl's soft reply answered his question and nothing more.

James shrugged his shoulders " As long as it dosen't kill you then yes" He said giving her a smile. " Aura like the disney princess?" He asked her with a bit of a laugh. Yes he knew about the disney princess movies he did have a little sister for awhile. James took a seat down beside her. James felt attracted to her but wouldn't make any kind of moves on her.
He really wanted to date Addison and doing things with other girls wouldn't persuade her to date him. " So are you a high-school student or something?" He asked her curious about her. Who knows maybe they could become good friends.

She worried vaguely if she had been to brief. She had never been one to talk much when she first met someone. After a while, though, if the person continued to hover around, they wouldn't be able to get her to shut up. Raking a hand through her twisted, golden locks, she told herself sternly to be more friendly. How else was she actually going to be friends with someone if she wasn't?
Repressing a sigh, she dipped her toes back in the water, making small circles with them.
When he asked if her name was like the Disney princess name, she burst out into a fit of little giggles. She remembered nights of nothing but Disney movies and popcorn. She would force her mother to watch endless hours of Cinderella and Snow White, but her absolute favorite was Robin Hood.
"I believe you are thinking of Aurora. But it's close."
Laughter was plain in her voice, as well as her eyes.
"I had no idea guys actually paid attention to those movies."
She winked lightly in his direction before turning back to stare at the peaceful ripples on the surface of the clear lake.
"Yeah, I'm in high school. I'm going to be a senior next year. What about yourself?"
She wasn't surprised he hadn't recognized her, and didn't bother to care, either. She had always made herself as inconspicuous as possible, laying low so she didn't attract too much attention.

James grinned " Oh wow that is really close sorry about that" He told her scratching the back of his head. James laughed " Well I had a little sister so yeah" He told her truthfully shrugging his shoulders. His sister was always a sore topic for him simply because of what happened with her. He will never know if they would still be getting along to this day or not. There were many different solutions to what could've happened with her.
They could've gotten along great. Or she could've been a sister that he just disliked so much. She could've dated his bestfriend. The possiblities were endless but now nothing. " Wow same as me maybe we'll be in some classes together" He told her shrugging his shoulders.
James looked stuneed for a minute or so " Did you just wink at me?" He asked her a little confused. It was nice but slightly weird.

Her lips turned upwards into a small grin again as he apologized. Although, once again, she didn't know why. It was a common mistake, and she had heard many-a-person compare her with the Disney character that she didn't really care for. It was foreign to her, the whole 'sorry' thing. She thought it was a mere waste of time to apologize for past actions. After all, they were in the past. Nothing could change them, no matter how much a person desired.
The girl with the pretty heart-shaped face glanced at the boy sitting next to her when he said the bit about his sister. Did she detect.. hesitance? She didn't push anything, however. In her experience, if things wanted to come out, they would.
Her head nodded slightly when he observed that they were in the same class. Her brow furrowed lightly. How the hell didn't she recognize him? Maybe she just wasn't paying any attention to people. It wouldn't be the first time this anti-social young lass ignored any human presence. She smiled lightly in reply with his statement.
Did you just wink at me? he asked, and the girl couldn't help but giggle. The smile she wore suddenly turned shy, and a pretty pink blush spread lightly on her cheeks. She looked away from him and started playing with a lock of her golden hair. She was still new at this whole 'conversing with other people' thing...
"Yes.. yes, I did."

James kind of laughed a bit " So um where did you live before this?" He asked her trying very hard to change the topic. He felt so bad for being attracted to her when he had strong feelings for Addison. But at the same time he wasn't techinically dating her. But it still felt really wrong to him. He was going to try his hardest to change the subject.
Preferably not towards his siter.

The girl's chocolate eyes seemed to stare at everything but him. She couldn't bring herself to look at him. Abandoning the strand of blond hair she had been intently investigating, she folded her hands in her lap, seemingly fidgety. Embarrassment didn't come easily to this cute little lady. She wasn't used to the emotion, and when it came, she felt so very odd.
Still making a point not to look at the boy, she listened to the next question. More heat rose up to her face as the blush widened. He seemed so intent on changing the subject.
Oh my dear sweet Lord, why the hell do I have to be so awkward?
The thought bubbled up inside her, suffocating her pretty little neck. Then she remembered he had spoken to her. Struggling to remember what he had just said, she fidgeted again with her hands that lay in her lap.
Oh, yes! She smiled lightly as she recalled what he asked, but she still wouldn't look at him.
"I've lived here all my life. I was home-schooled up until my freshman year.."
She let a soft sigh escape from her lips.
"What about yourself?"

James was actually shocked when she said she had lived here her entire life. Sure she had been homeschooled until her freshman year. Why hadn't he seen her around town before? How come he didn't notice her throughout highschool? He kind of knew why he hadn't seen her in highschool.
He was in with the popular crowd and if you wern't in that crowd it was unlikely he would know who you are. Maybe she just stayed under his radar for fear of humilation. Of course he wasn't a bully but alot of his friends were. " I've lived here my entire life too, shockingly never seen you before" He said shrugging his shoulders.

Quite frankly, when the boy looked shocked, she wasn't surprised. She rarely went to town. If she did, it was to pick up some groceries for her family, or purchase her favorite Cafe Americano from the coffee shop. As for school, he was partly correct. She did avoid the 'popular' group, but she also avoided people in general. She would duck behind a corner when it seemed as if a person were about to actually talk to her...
She continued to fidget with her hands, brown eyes trained on them. As he stated the obvious, a small, shy smile played on her lips. The blush that had been on her cheeks for a while now finally wore off, leaving her looking exactly as she had before. However, she had retreated slightly, a reserved look on her face. No-freaking-way was she about to let something like that happen again.
"I, uh, don't get out a lot."
She breathed a soft sigh, memories flooding her. Sure, she had seen this boy in the hallway, every once in a while. She knew he was popular, she had kept careful tabs on that particular group, avoiding them at all expense.

James nodded his head that made alot of sense to him. " Have you seen me around school though?" He asked her curious. He could've seen her before but didn't really pay much attention to others. He hated that about himself but what could he do. Those people that were really shy tended to avoid him and his friends at all cost.
It's not that he was a bully but his friends got a little out of control sometimes. His male friends liked to insult other guys and make horrible comments towars females. His female friends were mostly horrible to other girls they were fine around other guys. He hoped none of his friends had ever given her any trouble. From now on when he were to see her at school he would make sure to talk to her.
Who knows maybe he could even get some of his friends to hang out with her.

As she watched the calm, peaceable, rippling water, a light yawn tugged at the edges of her mouth. The drowsy gap in her lips scrunched her heart-shaped face for a moment, before it was back to its usual pretty splendor. She realized suddenly that she had forgotten to put sunscreen on that morning, and with her fair skin, she would probably be burnt by now. Wrinkling her nose, she tested out any tightness that comes with a burn. Yep. She was burnt. Her cheeks and the bridge of her petite nose were a light red, which could easily be mistaken as blushing.
When he asked yet another question, she was happy for the burn. Another blush flooded her cheeks, hopefully masked by the redness the sun had caused.
She wondered vaguely if he was looking at her, so she glanced at him from the corner of her eye, though she couldn't quite tell.
Another sigh pushed its way through her closed lips. An internal war raged within her pretty little head. Should she tell the truth, and risk this boy's bewilderment once again, or should she lie? Frustrated, she raked a hand through her mussed, golden blond locks. Frankly, she enjoyed his company, for a change. She had tired slightly of her solitude, and almost was relieved when she had been interrupted. Her conscience got the better of her.
"Yes.. You are popular."
Her tone wasn't accusatory, she was merely stating the well-known facts. And why wouldn't he be popular? He was good-looking, in a bad-ass sorta way, and in her experience, people absolutely adored those kind of people. Now, her looks, on the other hand, weren't so widely accepted. Her shy, meek, modest face was considered boring in some people's minds.
