Shifts. Remove the f and last s and it'll be shit. Shifts at work were do boring sometimes except when a interesting group of people come in or someone just starts a conversation with you. Five minutes and this girls shift would be up and she would be free for the evening to do whatever she wanted.
A sigh rolled from the girls lips as she fixed her cap making sure her bangs swung half in her face. She picked up the white rag she had been using once more and sprayed the counter tops with disinfecting solution before whipping them down and putting it all away.
Look at the clock, look at the door, clock door. So became a pattern for the nineteen year old as she itched to get outside in the fresh air and away from the air conditioned building where she worked.

She needed caffeine.
So maybe some would say it was too late for coffee. That having too much now would mean she couldn't sleep tonight. That wasn't a problem for Ashley though. She hadn't slept at all in 36 hours, having been practically forced into a whole night (and morning) of horror movies and espresso. And she still had to work tonight.
Opening the door to Starbucks, Ashley immediately felt better. As if her body could sense that it would soon regain it's energy. The girl behind the counter looked far less than energetic though. Walking up to her, Ashley waited for her order to be taken. "An iced Caffè Americano" she told the girl, feeling her fingers shaking against the counter. "You look bored." she continued. She knew what it was like having a dull job and maybe she wanted to offer some sympathy for the girl. Or maybe she just felt like being social. She didn't even know herself. She was just so tired.

"An iced caffè Americano" these words snapped Elizabeth out of her day dream of the sun, beach and sand. "Coming right up!" she said as she wrote it down quickly on the pad of paper that always sat next to the cash register and turned to bein making the iced coffee "You look bored" the voice said again a shrug fell from the girls shoulders "More anxious to get out of this uniform and on the beach!" she said as she turned her head from the blender for a moment to talk as she mixed the coffee and milk together before pouring it in a glass of ice (not 100% sure how to actually make one xD) "Lucky for me as soon as you pay my shift is up and I can hit the wondrous sandy beaches and refreshing beaches!" Elizath said with a smile as she handed over the coffee and began ringing it up on the cash register "Four fourty-six is your total" she said with a smile as she waited for the girl to pay her and release her from the cold house.
