James had just came back from visiting his mother in jail. Like he predicted she was still in denial about being a bad parent. It drove him crazy that she didn’t feel guilt about killing her baby. James walked into Starbucks and took a seat in the back and put his head in his hands in frustration. His dad still blamed himself for her death and it wasn’t even his fault.
Somebody at that time needed to work and since James was ten at the time there was no way he could support the family. It was his mother’s fault if she was angry she should’ve just left and punched a wall not kill his sister. James often wondered what his sister would be like. Also what his life would be like. In a week it would be her ninth birthday.
James could feel tears falling from his eyes but quickly wiped them before anybody would notice. He sat there until the server came over and asked him what he wanted “ Strawberry banana smoothie” He told the server not even looking up at them. He scratched the top of his head as he thought of something he could do to take his mind off of this. Therapy didn’t work in fact it might have made him worse. Drinking didn’t work just made him more depressed.
The only comfort he found was music. Mostly the depressing songs about losing somebody that was very important to you. “ Fuck it” He said leaving but before he did he gave the server twenty bucks before leaving. He felt bad that they had already started making his order and that he had no intentions of actually taking it. He left Starbucks and just walked and walked until he had no idea where he was.
He seemed to be in some sort of forested area. He just laid down on the grass staring at the sky. “ Love you baby girl, miss you every day” He said as he started to cry. Right now he didn’t want to do anything all he wanted to do was lay there until he found the strength to get up and continue his life.
